q)please tell us a brief info about yourself.
a)My name is Philipp Igumnov. I'm 26 y.o. freelance designer from Moscow, Russia.
q)Tell us about your humble beginnings, When did you you first realized that you wanted to be an artist?
a)I really don't know. Maybe it was about 9 or 10 years ago, when I started experimenting with photoshop. I was enjoying making pictures.
And I do so now.
q)What are your tools?
a)Mostly Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Also sometimes I use pencils, pens, scissors and watercolor.
q)Who or what gives you inspiration?
a)I get inspired by slow melodic music, and by people who surround me, and sometimes by movies, books, and many other things. You never know what will give you inspiration. It's like a flash in your conscious mind.
q)Is your artistic background self-taught or did you go to college to study?
About a year ago I wanted to start studying art in school of modern arts "mmoma" here in Moscow, but they said that I'm not cool enough to breathe the same air with them. So I dropped that idea for now.
q)How do you keep “fresh” within your industry?
a)Well, I'm surfing lots of internet sites about art and design, watching tons of pictures, and I think it helps me stay up-to-date.
(but I'm not sure that my collages looks very fresh)
q)What are some of your current projects?
a)Now I'm making corporate style design for a construction company and helping my friend with interior design.
Not very interesting though
q)Which of your works are you the most proud of? And why?
I totally wasn't expecting that my picture could be liked by so many people. And since I made it, I realized that I can make something right. That I'm not so useless as I thought before.
q)Are there any areas, techniques, mediums, projects in your field that you have yet to try?
a)Yes, sure. I want to try making animated cartoons and 3d models.
q)What do you do to keep yourself motivated and avoid burn-out?
a)Nothing. Sometimes I just stop and do nothing.
Except my job, where all the things are usually coined and I just need to make a picture with them.
q)how do you spend most of your free time?
a)Well, in my spare time I like to walk around my city, listen to a good music, watch movies, make pictures for myself and sometimes play computer games.
q)What contemporary artists or developments in art interest you?
